Blog 19 – My Star Wars dreams came true!

One night, in a galaxy far far away, I put on a bright orange jumpsuit and had the birthday party of my dreams! Turning 30 was a massive deal for me and I wanted to do it in style. So I did. I had an EPIC Star Wars 30th bash. It was the BEST night of my life. I had a room filled with everyone I loved… including 2 Stormtroopers!

I dressed as an X wing pilot. I couldn’t have been anything else. I have honestly waited my whole life to be a member of the Rebel Alliance and it finally happened! My bestie dressed as Rey. There were Chewbaccas, a Darth Vader, Kylo Ren and Darth Maul. It was AMAZING!!

I think I am just going to let the pictures speak for themselves…

I had some pretty awesome balloons. I got them from a local balloon and party shop. They were fantastic to work with and they accommodated my every need!

The 6ft Stormtoopers were unbelievable and even made it on to the dance floor at one point.

BB8 and R2D2 came to party.

This is cake no 1. It was made by a local cake company. It was delicious and I got to keep the mask.

Cake no 2. The Millennium Falcon. My dream car.

The classic toilet selfie. Me and my bestie.

The DJ, very aptly named Disco Inferno, got it spot on on the night. I sent them a playlist and every song was played. Even the odd ones. By the end of the night I was on the dance floor with a gin in my hand singing my heart out to License to Kill from the Bond film. It doesn’t get any better than that for me.

This really was the night of my life and I’m so grateful to everyone who came! If anyone is turning 30 soon and they are struggling with the prospect of it, I thoroughly recommend having a party. It takes you out of your comfort zone and into a space that sets your mind into thinking that this isn’t so bad. I’m actually enjoying myself and I CAN DO THIS! I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has supported me through the difficult years I had in my twenties. I said goodbye to them that night and hello to 30.

What a great way to start a new decade!

Thanks for reading.
